About Us

CTTHS was established to serve small breeders and thoroughbred owners in the Mid-Atlantic region.  It's  founder and president is Richard (Dick) Minard, a local breeder, owner and trainer.  Together with his wife Jane, they sought to create an economically reasonable sales outlet for small breeders. 

The amazing success of the West Virginia Breeders Program contributed to the formation of CTTHS.  Hundreds of breeders throughout the Mid-Atlantic region participate in this program and many are seeking to market their West Virginia registered foals to area buyers.

In 2004, CTTHS teamed with Bob Rawlings Auctions and conducted it's first sale at Charles Town Races & Slots in Charles Town, WV.  CTTHS subsequently conducted three additional sales and now is focused on building a solid base of consignors and buyers in the immediate area as well as reaching out to breeders from New York to Florida and as far west as Kentucky and Ohio.  Dick Minard says " We are not attempting to compete with larger auction companies, we are simply attempting to provide a sale which small breeders can afford".
